The Mysteries of the Kingdom

Nov 16, 2025    Aaron Russo

Main Idea: God sovereignly reveals or conceals the mysteries of his Kingdom.

I. Concealment of the Gospel of the Kingdom is a judgement on rebellious unbelief (vv. 9-15).

- Isaiah 6; John 1:10-11

II. The hidden realities of the Kingdom are revealed to its citizens (his children) (vv. 11-12).

- John 1:12; Romans 11:25, 16:25-26

III. The incomparable blessing of revelation is a call to faithfulness (vv. 16-17).

- Luke 19:11-27; 1 Peter 1:10-12

Suggested Psalm: 119:17-24. 33-40

Questions to Consider:

- When you hear Scripture, do you approach it to be comforted, informed, challenged, or changed? Are there ways you resemble the curious crowds rather than committed disciples?

- Prophets and righteous people longed to see what the disciples saw. How aware are you of the privilege you have in possessing the Gospel? How does gratitude (or lack of it) shape your discipleship?

- What are you actively doing with what Christ has entrusted to you? Which of your investments (time, attention, money, relationships) show kingdom priorities? Which do not?
