Main Idea: God became manic Jesus Christ to perfectly reveal himself to us.

I. What we were: we were Blind to the true nature and Character of God. (1:1)

II. Who he is: Jesus is and always has been the revealer of God (the Logos). (1:2-3a)

III. How His incarnation Changes everything: Jesus taught, lived, and Died God's transforming love for his people. (1:3b)

Questions to consider:

- in what ways do people today still try to "chip away at the walls of the box" to search for meaning apart from God? are there ways you try to find meaning and understanding without looking to Jesus as the revealer of all truth?

- How does understanding Jesus as the eternal revealer of God (John 1; Matthew 11:27) change the way we read Scripture?

- Why was it necessary for Jesus to become human in order to reveal God perfectly? Could God have revealed Himself fully without the incarnation?
