Main Idea: The King, who is sovereign over all things, is moved by compassion for sinners and sufferers.

II.     Faith submits to the King’s sovereignty.

•  How can we guard against turning the Christian life into either:

o   presuming on God's mercy without obedience, or

o   obeying dutifully without resting in God's mercy? 

•  What would “crying out for mercy” look like in my life right now? 

• What would it look like for me to follow Jesus more closely rather than merely asking Jesus to bless the direction I have already chosen?
