II.     Depend: His abundance will always exceed your own.  (8–11a)

III.    Delight together: The thanksgiving of others completes our joy in him.  (11b–15)

Questions for personal reflection or group discussion: 

· When you think about giving—whether money, time, abilities, or hospitality—what emotions come most naturally? Joy, fear, guilt, reluctance, gratitude, or something else? Why?

· What blessings from God over the past year have stirred genuine thanksgiving in your heart? What blessings have you neglected to thank him for?  To what extent is thankfulness a factor in your generosity?

· Has routine or automatic giving replaced thanksgiving and true generosity in your life?  What will you do about it?
